Welcome Back!

On behalf of the Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) Executive Board, it is our pleasure to introduce you or welcome your return to Thompson Brook School and the TBS PTO.  We hope that everyone had an amazing summer and you are ready for great school year at TBS!

The TBS PTO provides teacher and staff support including copying help, staff appreciation celebrations, recess duty, and recycling program coordination. The PTO also supports our parents and students by hosting book fairs, organizing the TBS Musical, and planning 5^th grade field day and 6^th grade end of year student events. We hope you’ll join us at our quarterly meetings to learn more about what is happening at TBS and in our school district this year. Dates and times, along with meeting agendas will be announced via our TBS POST.

One & Done. Have you heard about it? This will be the one and only fundraiser this year at TBS. Please take a minute to review the sheet regarding the 2^nd year of this fundraising effort where all donations collected will be used to support and enhance the school year experience for our teachers and students.

In an effort to commit to a paperless world and make communication streamlined for all, we are working to introduce a few new things to school this year. In spearheading, and introducing new forms of communication, we ask you to understand there may be a few bumps in the road, but hope you find our efforts resourceful and helpful.

We are working to get a TBS POST up and running in a few weeks. It is our hope that this POST be our way to communicate with you with a weekly email of PTO and school updates throughout the year. Occasionally we may communicate via School Messenger. Additionally, all information will also be posted on our website (www.thompsonbrookpto.org) and please follow us on Facebook (www.facebook.com/ThompsonBrookPTO).

Also new this year will be the introduction of Event Keeper; an on-line program used to sign up for all of our amazing before and after school activities our activities team has worked hard to select and offer our students this year. Sign up for these activities will come to you in fall and winter.

Volunteer Opportunities. There are several opportunities for you, as parents and guardians, to come into school and help the TBS staff and teachers. Recess duty, copy center, room parents/team liaisons are at the top of that list, offering you flexibility in your schedule to come and help as you are able and would like to volunteer. Other opportunities involve chairing or joining a committee. We have included a volunteer outline for reference and consideration.
