2020 Battle of the Books is Officially Underway at TBS!
The TBS PTO is sponsoring the Battle of the Books! This is a school-wide, motivational reading competition. Teachers will organize students into four teams, who will work to collaboratively read the Battle titles throughout the months of January, February, March and April. Please see the attached PDF for more information about the program.
How can you help as a parent? You may support your child by:
  • Asking your child about the Battle of the Books
  • Watching the book talks on Mrs. Buckle’s website (Literacy Specialist at TBS)
  • Helping them select books of interest from  the 14 titles
  • Encouraging them to read books outside their comfort zone (number, genre, interest, length)
  •  Reading a book with your child and discussing it at home

Keep Sending in Those Box Tops! We’ve earned TBS $115.60 so far…
Thank you for clipping and scanning these first few months of school.  After the initial, November 1st Box Tops submission, we’ve earned $115.60 for our school.  Let’s keep it going!

The big, colorful Box Tops bin sits in the front lobby at school. In addition to clipping your Box Tops in the traditional manner, and sending them in a baggie or envelope with your student, you can also earn money for TBS by scanning your store receipts with the Box Tops mobile app.
The app will automatically read your receipt and register your Box Top earnings.  You can also give credit for your child’s class by clicking on the “credit” button (star icon) that appears after you scan. Simply enter your child’s grade and their teacher’s last name. Please see the attachment on how to get the app and scan your receipts.
Please contact Tracy Beloin at tcbeloin@yahoo.com with any questions!
